SHREWSBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Charlie Baker joined former State Rep. Karyn Polito at an event Tuesday as they announced plans to run together in 2014.
Polito plans to join Baker on the Republican ticket as a potential candidate for lieutenant governor, as first reported on FOX 25.
Governors and lieutenant governors run separately in their respective party primaries in Massachusetts, but Republican candidates in recent times have typically identified their preferred running mates earlier in the process.
Polito, who lost to Democrat Steve Grossman in the 2010 race for state treasurer, made the announcement at a diner in her hometown of Shrewsbury.
