LAWRENCE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Jury selection begins Monday in the murder trial of Rafael Martinez, who is charged with killing Timothy Walker during the summer of 2010 in Lawrence.
Prosecutors say Martinez shot the 20-year-old Walker in the head with a shotgun as he sat with friends on his grandmother's front porch in Lawrence. He was taken to a Boston hospital where he died the next day.
Authorities got a break when they released surveillance video of the shooting. Police allege Martinez told a friend it was him in the video.
Prosecutors told FOX 25's Bob Ward that his story on Walker's murder, as well as the video, led directly to the arrest of Martinez.
