Jury in Boston slayings to resume deliberations

BOSTON (AP) — The jury in the retrial of a Boston man charged with fatally shooting four people and leaving a fifth paralyzed during a drug-related robbery is scheduled to resume deliberations.

Jurors are scheduled to take up the case of Dwayne Moore again on Monday.

The jury wrapped up Friday without reaching a verdict when one member fell ill.

Moore is charged with killing three adults and a toddler in the city's Mattapan neighborhood in September 2010. His first trial ended in a hung jury. A co-defendant was acquitted.

Moore's lawyer says the prosecution's star witness is a liar.

The prosecutor said the testimony of more than 40 witnesses proves Moore's guilt.

The jurors are from Worcester County because the defense said publicity made it hard to get an impartial Boston jury.
