Updated:NEW YORK (MyFoxBoston.com)â Over 80 pieces from John Lennonâs handwritten collection will be auctioned off at Sothebyâs in New York on June 4.
Die-hard Beatles fans will have a chance to purchase these items for as low as $500 and as much as $70,000. Lennonâs handwritten manuscript of âThe Singularge Experience of Miss Anne Duffieldâ will be the most expensive item listed.
Richard Austin, Sothebyâs Head of Books and Titles, said people should be interested in purchasing one of the 89 manuscripts and sketches because they show Lennonâs personality and some of his work with Paul McCartney outside of music.
âThere's also just a lot of very funny sketches, you really see Lennon's humor coming through in a lot of the artwork. He loved to draw these sorts of grotesque, fantastic characters, and you see a lot of those on display on the walls as well. It's something that when you go through, everyone seems to crack a smile when they start looking at the drawings,'' said Austin.
