Jared Remy investigation: Funeral arrangements set for Jennifer Martel

WALTHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Family members of Jennifer Martel, who was allegedly killed by the son of broadcasting legend Jerry Remy, have announced funeral arrangements for the 27-year-old mother.

Martel was reportedly killed at the hands of her boyfriend, Jared Remy, Aug. 15. Jared Remy, who has a history of domestic violence, was released on personal recognizance bail one day after he allegedly slammed Martel's head into a mirror. The following day, Martel was found dead in her home and officers found Jared Remy covered in blood.

Martel was enrolled at Framingham State College studying to become an elementary school teacher. She was an assistant front end manager at Market Basket Grocery Store in Burlington. She was also a mother to 4-year-old Arianna Nicole Remy.

Family, friends, and all those who wish to pay their respects can attend calling hours, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. The services and burial will be private.

A memorial fund has been set up to pay for funeral expenses, lawyer fees, and for Arianna. To donate:
