WORCESTER, Mass. (AP)- A woman held on a motor vehicle homicide charge in the death of her 3-year-old son was granted permission to attend a private family viewing before his wake and funeral.
The Telegram & Gazette of Worcester reports that a judge granted a motion by 27-year-old Christina Castro's lawyer to allow her to attend the viewing Sunday at a church before a wake and funeral for 3-year-old Jayden Figueroa. The motion was impounded until Monday.
Castro has pleaded not guilty in connection with the March 11 crash that killed Jayden and injured her two other young sons. She is held at MCI Framingham in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Police said the boys weren't properly restrained in the car, and that Castro may have been driving more than 70 miles per hour as she fled an earlier minor accident.
