Investigators work to identify decomposed body found in NH

CONCORD, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police are working to identify human remains found in Concord, N.H.

Concord police responded to reports of a dead body found in a wooded area near the Walmart access road on Route 106 at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Once on the scene, they found the body about 80 feet away from the road.

Investigators secured the scene until daylight at which time a representative from the Medical Examiner's Office was called in.

The time and cause of death was not determined Tuesday. Officials could not determine whether the deceased was a male or female because the body was badly decomposed. They say it is believed, however, the person may have had short, dark hair that was possibly a grown-out buzz cut. At the time of their death, the person was wearing dark jeans, a gray t-shirt, and an olive green fleece.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the body. They're particularly interested in missing persons cases involving anyone who may have gone missing between July and August of this year.

Anyone with information is asked to call Concord police at 603-225-8600 or the Concord Regional Crimeline at 603-226-3100.
