Immigrants take US citizen oaths at Boston College

BOSTON (AP) - A group of 100 immigrants living in Massachusetts is set to become the newest United States citizens in a naturalization ceremony at Boston College.

The ceremony scheduled for next Thursday will benefit immigrants from countries including Albania, China, India, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey and Vietnam.

Boston College officials say the event will kick off a two-day symposium on migration.

Experts will address the future of U.S. immigration policy, race and class in immigration, and refugees and forced migration.

College officials say the events are part of connecting to the institution's roots as a university founded 150 years ago to serve Boston's immigrant population.
