Husband of woman killed in Sweet Tomatoes crash suing driver

BOSTON — The husband of a woman killed when a car crashed into Sweet Tomatoes in West Newton earlier this year is suing the driver.

Court documents released last month show the driver, Brad Casler, was speeding when he drove across Washington Street in March and through the side of the restaurant, killing two people and injuring several others.

Gregory D. Morin, 32, of Newton, and Eleanor Miele, 57, of Watertown (pictured below), were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Casler was charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide in September after a lengthy investigation.

Court documents obtained by FOX25 show that last Eleanor's husband George Miele has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Casler in a complaint filed on Oct. 17.

FOX25 has reached out to lawyers for Casler and Miele and will update this story when new information is available.
