Human remains found identified as missing Swampscott mom

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The human remains found in Swampscott Wednesday have been identified as missing mother Jaimee Mendez.

The Chief Medical Examiner identified the remains found on King's Beach as that of Mendez's. The 25-year-old mother was last seen on Nov. 6, 2014.

The identification was made through dental records, according to the Essex District Attorney's Office. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

“We are relieved for Jaimee's family that she has been located and identified," Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said in a statement. "We will continue to work diligently to determine the circumstances of her death.  Our thoughts are with the Mendez family during this difficult time,” Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett."

Her family says the last time they heard from Jaimee, she had called friends and asked them to pick her up as she was with a sex offender and felt uncomfortable.

No other information was immediately released.
