Human bones found in Brockton's east side

BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Plymouth County District Attorney's office says bones found in a wooded area near the Brockton-East Bridgewater line are human.

Brockton police responded to the area off of East Street just before 12 p.m. Monday after receiving a report from someone who discovered the human remains.

After a preliminary investigation that involved state and local officials, the remains were found to be human.

Investigators did not say how long they believe the remains were in the area. An autopsy has been scheduled to identify the deceased and determine the manner of death.
