How will the removal of toll booths from the Mass. Pike work?

BOSTON — Starting this weekend, demolition of the toll booths along the Mass. Pike will begin after the transition to overhead tolling.

Many people have reached out to FOX25 asking how this will work, and on Tuesday, MassDOT released a visualization. Watch the video below to see the planned removal for the toll booths at the intersection of I-90 and I-290.

With all of the toll booth demolition taking place simultaneously, State Highway Administrator Tom Tinlin wants commuters who use the Pike to know their rides will be impacted.

“Leave yourself plenty of time maybe think about an alternative work schedule if you can do it maybe think about a different way to get to work if you can do it, take the MBTA if you can do that,” Tinlin said.
