How to become a bone marrow donor?

(MyFoxBoston.com) – A man and a woman paired up through www.bethematch.org met for the first time mid-March following a successful bone marrow transplant.

Jim Robinson, who is originally from Lowell, and Anita Cutler, of Peabody, are sharing their incredible story in hopes of encouraging others to become bone marrow donors.

Cutler had a rare type of leukemia and was being treated at Dana Farber. Her prognosis was not good, but because of Robinson she now has hope.

Robinson had given a cheek swab years back and had forgotten all about it, until last January when he received a call that he could be a possible match. He underwent the procedure, and now Cutler is cured of her leukemia.
