Hope vigil held for Dracut woman missing since Sunday

DRACUT, Mass. — An elderly woman missing from Dracut has only been seen once, and that was on surveillance video.

But family, friends, and the community at large are still hoping Kathryn Lucier is safe.

With temperatures dropping and the search for the missing 75-year-old Alzheimer's patient growing dire, there was a hope vigil held at Dracut High School.

Family members are hoping someone saw Lucier walking and brought her into their home.

"I thought nothing of it when they said she went for a walk up the street but she always came back, it's just shocking to me because it's as if she vanished" Lucier's niece Cara Gagnon said.

Volunteers have been searching for Lucier on foot, horseback, and even using drones, but so far there is no sign of her.

Lucier was last seen wearing dark pants and a baggy sweatshirt with "Lowell" written across the front.

Anyone who might have seen Lucier is asked to call the Dracut police department at (978) 957-2123.
