Homeless man arrested after stealing ambulance in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Police in Cambridge have arrested a man they say stole an ambulance and took it for a joyride.

Police say the man, 48-year-old Everett Goss, is homeless, and was being treated at the local hospital when he stole the ambulance Tuesday night.

Goss drove the ambulance for a short time, but crashed into a cruiser at 3rd Street and Gore Street in Cambridge.

The cruiser received minor damage, but the officer and suspect were uninjured.

Goss is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and operating without a license.
