WEYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Holbrook man was arrested on Wednesday for driving under the influence after he reportedly hit several vehicles while driving on the wrong side of the road.
Michael J. Foley, 59, is charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, six counts of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, negligent operation of a vehicle, operating after license suspension, and marked lanes violation.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, police reportedly began receiving calls from several victims of hit and run car crashes on Randolph Street. The callers said a white Dodge Ram pickup truck with a plow had struck several cars while driving on the wrong side of the road.
The six crashes were spread out for close to one mile.
Witnesses told police Foley continued on towards Pond Street without stopping. One witness followed the suspect's vehicle to a parking lot at South Shore Hospital.
Foley was located inside the hospital where he was visiting someone. He was administered field sobriety tests, and subsequently was arrested.
The other drivers were uninjured.
Foley appeared in court on Thursday and was held on $2,500 cash bail. His next scheduled court date is to be determined.
