Hit-and-run accident leaves 1 dead in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Springfield police say they are looking for a Ford pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a bicyclist.

Springfield police Sgt. John Delaney says the bicycle was dragged down Boston Road near Barber Street at about 3 a.m. on Wednesday. He says the rider was killed instantly.

City police are looking for a light-colored Ford F-150 pickup truck with front-end damage.

Delaney says police are using surveillance video from nearby businesses in an effort to identify the truck's license plate number.

The bicyclist's name has not been released.
