Hit-and-run kills child, Milford police searching for car

MILFORD, Mass. — The search is on for a car that hit a child and killed in Milford Sunday and drove away.

The incident happened between 4 and 5 p.m. on Water Street. They are looking for a red Scion XB 2nd generation, possibly with damage to the right front area.  Police said the color is a special edition and there are not many of it, so if you see it, call police.

State Police said they sent cruisers and an Air Wing to help Milford Police look for the vehicle.

Police first said the child suffered life-threatening injuries, and later confirmed the child died. FOX25 has learned the victim was a 4-year-old boy. Jonathan Loja was playing with a yo-yo when he was hit and killed, said the family.

Anyone with information should contact police.
