Hingham daycare teacher accused of shaking, force-feeding children

HINGHAM, Mass. — A Department of Children and Families investigation is underway after reports of abuse at a Hingham daycare.

Joe Sheehan told FOX25 he got a phone call about the Bright Horizons daycare his daughter attended.

“We got a call on Monday [by the daycare center's director. They said] there was abuse going on at the daycare for the last ten months,” he said.

Sheehan’s 10-month-old daughter was one of seven children who may have been abused. The allegations against an employee include shaking and force-feeding children.

"It was Tuesday we found out they said that she was rocked aggressively, to be put to sleep,” he said.

On Wednesday, Sheehan and his wife filed a complaint against the daycare, which is located inside the Blue Cross Blue Shield building in Hingham.

"I'd like to see the two individuals prosecuted,” he said.

Bright Horizons told FOX25 that one teacher has been terminated because of the allegations and a second teacher is on leave during the investigation, you can read the company’s full statement below. DCF said they are investigating the allegations as well.
