High winds could make for dangerous Thursday morning commute

FROM FOX 25 METEOROLOGIST KEVIN LEMANOWICZ:

A High Wind Warning will continue until 9 a.m. Thursday as a cold front approaches. This is the same front that has brought severe weather to other parts of the country, including tornadoes in the southeast.

The strongest winds will likely arrive with the heavy rain along the front. That will be just in time for the morning drive. It'll be a treacherous commute. Winds will gust to 60 mph or even stronger. There will be trees down and possibly power outages. The front will come through early Thursday, but winds will stay gusty through the day.

Temperatures will peak in the morning, falling to the 40s through the day. The cold air moves in for the weekend with flurries flying at times Friday. Light snow will move in Sunday, though little accumulation is expected. Another chance of snow comes Tuesday.
