High wind to keep temps down Tuesday afternoon

Clouds will gradually break apart late morning and afternoon in the Boston area. The clearing will push from the coast to inland locations over time. Through noon, stubborn clouds will stir up a few snow flakes and rain drops, mainly through interior and central Mass.

Sun and scattered clouds will continue into the afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 40s. It will stay breezy with NW winds 10-15 mph and gusts to 30 (slightly stronger on the Cape). So your partial sun will not really feel spring-like. I can't rule out a stray shower this afternoon, but most towns and cities stay dry.

Wake up weather Wednesday will be partly cloudy with 20s and 30s. A good amount of sun will develop in the morning then fade to increasing afternoon clouds. A disturbance will swing through northern New England and through Massachusetts Wednesday night, bring the chance for a few rain or snow showers overnight and Thursday. This is NOT a big storm system and should result in just spotty showers.

The National Weather Service holds training sessions for spotters, called Skywarn. These at-large spotters have become more important than ever with social media and all the interaction we do with them. There is a training session Tuesday at the Franklin Public Library. It is the last one scheduled before May. This could be a weather live shot, with sound from the NWS and maybe even a few of the spotter in training regarding the role the public plays in our forecasting and observing.
