Herring trapped in South Shore pond as drought dries up stream

WEYMOUTH, Mass. — From abnormally dry cranberry bogs to wildlife moving into populated areas, the severe drought in Massachusetts is having far reaching impacts.

In Weymouth and other communities herring that have spent the summer in lakes raising their offspring are now stuck there because many streams have run dry.

FOX25’s Robert Goulston spoke to George Loring, Weymouth's herring warden, about what is being done to help the fish.
