• Hernandez allegedly discussed Lloyd's murder in jail recordings

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Court documents released Friday allege former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez talked about the June 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd in conversations recorded at Bristol County Jail and House of Correction.

In the documents, investigators claim Hernandez spoke in code when speaking with loved ones. They further allege that he discussed matters "directly relevant to the circumstances surrounding the murder of Odin Lloyd."

The document goes on to list examples of those matters: "The defendant's subjective belief about his criminal liability; his use of coded messages to communicate with persons outside of jail; related prior offenses; inculpatory denials of ownership of a vehicle connected with the investigation; the extent of his control over persons charged as accessories; other matters relating to his codefendants, including their whereabouts and likely criminal liability."

The Bristol County District Attorney's office filed the paperwork Thursday to request copies of the recordings. They note that two of his visitors, Shayanna Jenkins and Tanya Singleton, are co-defendants accused of providing assistance to Hernandez after Lloyd's murder.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in Lloyd's death. He was ordered held without bail on murder and weapons charges in the case.

Hernandez's lawyers also filed a motion for discovery, which requests copies of all notes made by police during the investigation, access to all public Internet posts about the case made by any prospective witness, a copy of credit card receipts for anything purchased by Hernandez, Lloyd or Roberto Olivares at Rumors nightclub on June 14 or 15, 2013, and copies of any document or recording "memorializing the statement made to law enforcement agents by Oscar Hernandez in Belle Clade, Florida on June 27, 2013 and any subsequent statements made by him."

It also asked for, with respect to the State Police Crime Lab, the most recent outside inspection report on the lab, all records regarding quality control for materials and equipment used in testing, a copy of protocols governing testing, the error rate for testing and "documents evidencing any internal or external proficiency testing conducted during the past 5 years and the results of said testing."
