Help heartbroken girl have birthday to remember

BANGOR, Maine — Hallee is an 18-year-old girl from Maine who her family says will light up a room with her smile. She also happens to have autism.

She wanted to celebrate her 18th birthday by going bowling, and eating cake and ice cream with her friends. Her family planned the party, sent out invitations, and Hallee anxiously awaited the arrival of her friends.

But no one ever showed up.

Instead, Hallee sat at the table and ate her cake alone.

Hallee’s family says she will always have the mind of a child, so she was left heartbroken and hurt.

But Hallee’s 19th birthday is fast approaching, and her family is hoping you can help make it one to remember. They want to flood her mailbox with birthday cards from all over.

If you can spare a card and a few minutes out of your day, you can send a card to:

Hallee Sorenson

34 Wellesley Way

Bangor, ME 04401

Many people have already asked if they can send Hallee a gift as well. The family says that is not necessary. A simple card will make Hallee the happiest girl in the world.
