Heat advisory continues into Friday

From FOX 25 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz:

Day two of this heat wave lived up to the forecast as highs topped out in the 90s. The stifling humidity continues, too, causing the National Weather Service to put us in a HEAT ADVISORY again Friday.

You will need to follow the same precautions to stay healthy Friday- stay hydrated (water, please), keep cool, stay out of the sun if you can. Those needing to be in the sun, be sure to use sunscreen. The UV index will approach extreme limits Friday, meaning you will burn easily. There is always the risk of a thunderstorm in an air mass like this, but the best chances continue to be in the mountains and lakes in NH, VT, and Maine. I can't totally rule one out in southern New England, but chances are much less.

The heat wave will roll on through the weekend. Right now I think the next chance for widespread thunderstorms and showers will be Monday. Enjoy the vacation weekend weather, but use common sense in this heat.
