Heartwarming photo of man, arthritic dog lighting up Facebook

It's one of the most shared, liked and commented photos on Facebook this week and it's making Facebook users smile.

A Wisconsin photographer captured a man bringing his 19-year-old dog, Shep, into Lake Superior to soothe his arthritic bones.

Stonehouse Photography's Facebook page says the man, named John, brings Shep into the lake every night to help him get to sleep.

John rescued Shep when he was an 8-month-old puppy.

Mashable.com reports that prints of the image are available for purchase here and that all proceeds go towards Shep's vet bills.
