Hearing for bombing suspect's friend delayed

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – The probable cause hearing for a friend of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been delayed.

Robel Phillipos' hearing scheduled for May 31 has been moved to July 12.

Phillipos, 19, attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with Tsarnaev. He is charged with lying to federal authorities during the bombing investigation. Phillipos was released on $100,000 bond while he awaits trial.

Phillipos is not accused of helping Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev plan or carry out the two April 15 bombings. Three people died and more than 260 were injured.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is in a prison hospital. His brother, Tamerlan, died after a shootout with police.
