HAVERHILL, Mass. (AP)- A 64-year-old Haverhill woman is held without bail on a murder charge in the stabbing death of her boyfriend at their apartment.
Susan Lovejoy pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Tuesday in Haverhill District Court.
Police said they found 51-year-old Kervin Paul dead at 11:30 p.m. Monday when they responded to a reported suicide. Police said Paul had been stabbed through the arm, and said Lovejoy told them he injured himself. Police said the angle of the wound indicated it wasn't self-inflicted.
Police said they had been at the apartment late that afternoon for a reported disturbance, and Paul told them Lovejoy had been drinking and taking prescription drugs.
The Eagle-Tribune reports Lovejoy was taken to a hospital, and later told police she had walked back home.
