Gun found outside Boston school

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police are investigating the discovery of a gun outside a Hyde Park school Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Boston Public Schools tells FOX 25 the gun was found outside the Boston Community Leadership Academy and the New Mission High School on Metropolitan Avenue just after 10 a.m.

A custodian was outside working when he found the gun near the entranceway. He contacted police, who did a sweep of the school's perimeter.

Security was increased at the school after the gun was found.
