Grandfather allegedly shoots son over granddaughter's treatment

BADLWIN COUNTY, Ala. — A 64-year-old grandfather is accused of shooting his own son over alleged abuse of his granddaughter.

WKRB reports that the father, Mark Hall, began to allegedly hit and "pop" his 12-year-old daughter following a phone call regarding her. The father, mother and daughter were in the car going to the grandparent's home at this time, said officials.

When they arrived, a fight erupted between Hubbard Hall, the grandfather, and Mark.

Deputies said that the fight became physical and then Hubbard drew a gun and shot Mark; Mark was found lying on the floor of their home by officials and later died in a Mobile hospital.

Hubbard Hall is being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center Wednesday morning on a $50,000 bond.
