BOSTON (AP)- Gov. Deval Patrick's former budget chief has landed a new job.
Jay Gonzalez, who recently stepped down as Secretary of Administration and Finance for the administration, has accepted a post as president and CEO of CeltiCare Health Plan of Massachusetts beginning in January.
Until then Gonzalez will serve as senior vice president and chief development officer.
The reason for the delay is to comply with state ethics laws that prohibit Gonzalez from working under the company's existing contracts with the state's Health Insurance Connector Authority for a year after his resignation.
Gonzalez had served as Patrick's budget chief from 2007 until the end of last year.
CeltiCare Health Plan of Massachusetts, founded in 2009, provides lower cost health plans to Massachusetts residents and is a subsidiary of Centene Corporation.
