GOP Sen. Brown outpacing Warren in PAC donations

BOSTON (AP) - Democratic senate candidate Elizabeth Warren has raked in more campaign cash than rival Sen. Scott Brown, but the Republican incumbent is outpacing Warren in donations from political action committees.

An Associated Press review of each candidate's most recent filings with the Federal Election Commission shows Brown collected more than $451,000 from PACs in the six-week period between mid-August and the end of September.

That's compared with nearly $83,000 for Warren during the same period.

Overall Brown has collected nearly $3.1 million from the political committees - more than five times as much as Warren's $559,000.

Brown drew support from PACs representing financial, pharmaceutical and other corporate interests. Warren drew heavily from union-affiliated committees.

The Massachusetts race is the most expensive Senate contest in the country, with each candidate having raised tens of millions.
