COHASSET, Mass. (AP) — Republican Gabriel Gomez says his political career may not be over.
The Cohasset businessman and former Navy SEAL said just three weeks after a U.S. Senate race loss to Democrat Edward Markey he would consider a run for another political office.
Gomez tells The Boston Globe (http://b.globe.com/15H4miK) that he would run "If ... I've got the same passion that I had for this last race."
Gomez's only other jump into the political arena was an unsuccessful bid for the Cohasset board of selectmen. He said he would think long and hard, however, before launching another political campaign.
He admitted that he made mistakes against Markey, including calling the Democrat "pond scum" in a radio interview.
He also attributed his loss to being heavily outspent.
