• Globe, Herald: Davis being considered for top Homeland Security post

(MyFoxBoston.com) – Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis is being mentioned as a possible candidate for Homeland Security Director.
According to The Boston Globe and Boston Herald, Davis is one of a handful of people President Barack Obama is considering to replace Janet Napolitano, who is stepping down in September to take a job in education.
President Obama is expected to announce his nomination within the next few weeks.
Davis has become a fixture in Washington D.C. in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.
The White House isn't commenting on the rumor, but Davis told the Globe "I'm very happy serving the citizens of Boston."
