Gardner man indicted in Fitchburg slaying

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A Gardner man was indicted Monday in connection with a fatal shooting in Fitchburg.

A Worcester County grand jury handed up indictments Monday charging 36-year-old Dax Gibson, 36 with murder, home invasion, armed assault in a dwelling, kidnapping and other charges in the June 21 death of Luis Rodriguez.
Prosecutors allege the 26-year-old Rodriguez was shot in his apartment, and fled to a neighbor's porch, where he was found bleeding. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
Gibson and his girlfriend were arrested July 25 in Richmond, Va., and returned to Massachusetts to face charges.
Gibson pleaded not guilty in district court. His lawyer has questioned witness identification in the case.
The Telegram & Gazette reports that another man facing murder charges in the case remains at large.
