'Fugitive of the Week' captured in Wakefield, NH

CONCORD, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A U.S. Marshal's ‘Fugitive of the Week' was arrested by officers from the Wakefield Police Department on Monday morning.

Paul Skaltsis was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for parole violations stemming from an original conviction and sentence for aggravated assault.

As part of the investigation, the N.H. Department of Correction – Probation & Parole Division requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals who featured Skaltsis in a weekly feature known as the ‘Fugitive of the Week.'

After the feature aired, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force received numerous calls regarding Skaltsis. Several of the callers indicated that Skaltsis was living in the Wakefield, N.H. area.

Officers from the Wakefield Police Department recognized Skaltsis at a local convenience store and safely arrested him Monday morning.

Skaltsis was processed at the police department pending his transfer to the N.H. State Prison in Concord.

Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 4,392 arrests.
