Fugitive indicted in connection with Dorchester murders

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Dorchester man was indicted on Friday in connection with the shooting deaths of two sisters in Dorchester; however, prosecutors believe the suspect may have fled the country.

Jean Weevins Janvier, 30, was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder for the November 14, 2011 homicides of Judith Emile, 23, and her sister, Stephanie Emile, 21, inside their Harlem Street apartment, and unlawful possession of the firearm with which they were killed.

Janvier had previously been in a romantic relationship with Stephanie Emile, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors believe Janvier fled the charges and the country in the aftermath of the murder.

Boston Police responded to the victims' residence at 50 Harlem St. at about 9:15 a.m. on the morning of the incident to find them suffering from fatal gunshot injuries.

After conducting extensive interviews, examining forensic evidence, and reviewing additional information developed in the course of the investigation, investigators obtained a warrant for Janvier's arrest on Jan. 25.

When Janvier is apprehended, prosecutors will seek to rendite him to Massachusetts for arraignment in Suffolk Superior Court.
