UNDERCOVER - The Forgotten War was remembered in Massachusetts on Memorial Day along with FOX Undercover's Mike Beaudet whose reporting paved the way for much needed maintenance funds for the Korean War Memorial.
Veterans gathered at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Charlestown on Monday afternoon for the first time since the state restored funding for maintenance of the memorial.
In December, FOX Undercover revealed how lawmakers had forgotten about the memorial to the Forgotten War while deciding to give tens of thousands of dollars in maintenance money to other war memorials in Massachusetts.
Following FOX Undercover's investigation, Beacon Hill came up with the money for the state's official Korean War Veterans Memorial, and at the ceremony, a brick was revealed in appreciation of FOX Undercover's reporting.
The ceremony also included the unveiling of a bench in memory of Dorchester native Joseph Keenan, a Hospital Corpsman who died in the Korean War in 1953.
Keenan's family was on hand placing wreaths and bouquets at the memorial bench.
