Former state rep. accused of assaulting girlfriend outside Chicken Bone

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A former Marlborough City Councilor and state representative is accused of assaulting his girlfriend outside a Framingham restaurant Saturday, police said.

Steven Levy, 48, turned himself into police at about 5:15 a.m. Saturday after his girlfriend reported the assault, reports The MetroWest Daily News.

Levy's girlfriend told police that she, Levy, and other friends went to the Chicken Bone on Waverly Street late Friday night. At some point during the night, she reportedly went outside and caught Levy kissing one of her friends.

According to the newspaper, when the victim attempted to retrieve her cell phone and ATM card from Levy's pocket, he became enraged, ripped her shirt and knocked her to the ground.

Levy has been charged with assault and battery and is due back in court on June 17 for a pretrial conference.
