LEOMINSTER (MyFoxBoston.com) – The Leominster police officer who was fired because of a racial slur he yelled at a former Red Sox player will not be getting his job back.
The Worcester Telegram and Gazette reports that John Perreault lost his arbitration hearing on Monday.
Last July, Perreault called former Sox outfielder Carl Crawford a racial slur during a game in Manchester, N.H., with the double-A Portland Sea Dogs ball club.
Leominster's mayor fired him almost immediately.
Perreault had been fighting since then to win his job back, but the arbitrator ruled in favor of the city.
