Former Boy Scout leader charged with sexual assault

NEWFILEDS, N.H. — A former Boy Scout leader has been charged with rape after a man came forward with allegations from the 1990s.

Police say Eugene Perreault, 69, of Newfields, was arrested Monday.

The victim spoke to police about the allegations within the past week. According to information from the police chief, the victim was under 13 at the time of the allegations.

Perreault was a Scoutmaster from the mid-1990s through 2006 in Epping and Newfields.

Police said they expect more victims to come forward.
