Forecast: highs in the upper 50s for Tuesday

From FOX 25 meteorologist Shiri Spear

Areas of fog will affect the morning drive on Tuesday. Visibility may drop under ¼ mile and result in dense fog in spots. Drivers should use care this morning and budget extra times as needed. Fog should clear by 10 AM.

Although temperatures will start in the 30s, Tuesday afternoon will be very mild.  Highs in the mid to upper 50s are forecasted through southern New England and winds from the south pump warm air into place. Increasing moisture that comes along with the above average temps will lead to mostly cloudy skies, but generally dry conditions.

Rain will develop after midnight. A cold front will push through from west to east in the early hours of Wednesday. Lows in the 40s will prompt precipitation to stay RAIN. Anticipate a wet morning tomorrow. The afternoon will be dry but clouds will be slow to shift. Chilly air will filter into the region through the day and thermometer readings may very well hold steady or even decline in the afternoon.

Cool sunshine will rule the forecast Thursday into Friday.
