Flight that departed from Boston diverted for strange odor

NEW YORK CITY — A flight that took off from Boston Tuesday was diverted to JFK International due to an odor in the cabin.

Delta Airlines said Flight 981 was destined for Atlanta and landed safely at JFK without incident.

Delta's maintenance technicians have evaluated the aircraft and are making the necessary repairs.

The flight was scheduled to depart JFK for Atlanta at 5:15 p.m.
