Flight diverted to Boston due to smoke on aircraft

BOSTON — A United Airlines flights was diverted to Boston due to a possible fire onboard the aircraft.

The plane made an emergency landing around 3:40 p.m. after there were reports of smoke on the plane. Workers towed the Boeing 777 off the runway after passengers deplaned normally.

According to Flight Aware, the plane took off from Munich Germany around 12:40 p.m., and was destined for Washington Dulles International airport.

United Airlines said the maintenance team is inspecting the aricraft and it is working to rebook their customers.
