Fitchburg man fatally shot after argument

FITCHBURG, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Investigators say a Fitchburg man who was fatally shot Saturday knocked on the doors of several homes before collapsing.

Shaun Hibbard, 33,was pronounced deceased at Leominster Hospital just after 4 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe Hibbard was shot by his assailant after a confrontation near where Hibbard parked his car at the intersection of Forest and Charles street. Hibbard was hit by at least one bullet.

Hibbard reportedly ran up Forest Street and knocked on neighbors' doors. Several residents called 911 to report the gunshots.

The fatal shooting is under investigation by the Worcester County District Attorney's Office, as well as Mass. State and Fitchburg police. No arrests have been made.
