BILLERICA, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Remnants of a fireworks show in Billerica were found on the ground at the Marshall Middle School fields Sunday morning, setting off alarms for some concerned citizens.
When the first people arrived at the fields, they say they found what appeared to be dozens of strange devices scattered on the ground.
At a press conference held at 2 p.m. Sunday, fire officials assured everyone the debris was left over from the Yankee Doodle homecoming event held Saturday night.
Authorities say they did a sweep before and after the fireworks to make sure no charged materials were left behind.
A representative from the pyrotechnics company was on sight for each of the inspections to ensure public safety.
