PLYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Firefighters in Plymouth responded to a three-alarm fire at a 14-unit apartment complex on Marc Drive Sunday.
According to fire officials, it appears the fire started on a deck, possibly on the third floor. Due to the extreme heat, firefighters had to be rotated while they battled the fire.
Firefighters also had to shut down power to the entire complex so residents were without power and air conditioning Sunday.
One resident with breathing problems was hospitalized and another was hospitalized for heat-related issues.
Officials estimate 30 people were affected by the fire.
Red Cross volunteers are helping the victims at a shelter set up at North Plymouth High School.
