Fire officials respond to Boston hotel after 14 people get trapped on elevator

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Over a dozen people became trapped in a Boston hotel's elevator on Wednesday night.

Boston Fire officials tell FOX 25 they responded to the Liberty Hotel on Charles Street at about 9:30 p.m. on reports of people being trapped in an elevator.

Officials say this became a technical response rescue and that it took a few minutes to get the elevator moving again and to get the doors opened.

None of the 14 people stuck in the elevator were injured. Fire officials are investigating whether or not the elevator was over capacity at the time of the incident.
