Fight breaks out at Milton pizza shop over charging cell phone

MILTON, Mass. — A 15-year-old girl has been charged after allegedly getting into fight with other customers at a Milton pizzeria.

Police said on Tuesday, a group of teens were in Tino's Pizza on Central Avenue around 3:50 p.m. One or two of the group members asked to charge their cell phones at the pizzeria. The staff declined, said police.

In response, a fight between the group and others in the pizza shop broke out, said police. Members of the group assaulted two people older than 60 along with a 13-year-old who had tried to intervene.

The group fled the restaurant, going into Dorchester on Central Avenue. Two members of the group were found inside the Rite Aid on River Street and one of them admitted she was part of the altercation, said police. The girl, 15, told police she left her phone at Tino's and asked if she could retrieve it. Police accompanied her back to the store and it was there individuals identified her as one of the the people responsible for the assaults, said police.

The 15-year-old was arrested on two counts of being a delinquent child, to wit, assault & battery on a person over the age 60 or over and another count of assault & battery.

The teen, from Boston, was booked at the Milton Police station and released to her guardian.

She will be arraigned on Tuesday in the juvenile session at Quincy District Court.

The police department is continuing to investigate the crime in order to identify other members of the group.
