Felix Arroyo makes candidacy for mayor official

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Boston City Councilor at-Large Felix Arroyo added his name Tuesday to the list of candidates looking to succeed Mayor Tom Menino.

Arroyo announced his candidacy in front of his supporters Tuesday.

He is the third person from the Boston City Council to get into the race and the first Latino to ever run for mayor of Boston.

One person who will not be running for mayor is Michael Flaherty. He told VB he was thinking about it, but a source close to Flaherty told FOX 25 the former Boston City Council president will instead run at-large for council.

As of Tuesday, Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley, Councilor John R. Connolly, Councilor Rob Consalvo, State Rep. Martin Walsh, Bill Walczak, Will Dorcena, and Charles Clemons have all declared they are running for mayor.
